Found a quick read on Daily Hives about a month ago on the OEB Breakfast joint opening up a new Vancouver location, and the hype was unreal! We've decided to give the spot a try, and the food there was fresh, steaming hot, and very creative - fantastic-ah!

If you get off Stadium- China Town station on a sunny morning, it will take approximately 15 minutes to walk to the OEB Breakfast location in the heart of Yale Town. Not only will you be able to enjoy the summer breeze and a whole lot of sunshine, you will get to walk by the shore and watch the golden light reflected back on the surface of the ocean. Aside from that, the spot is also extremely close by the Sea Wall and it's lovely along the summer days.

We arrived at OEB around noon (12:30 p.m.) on Saturday and there was definitely an enormously long line up with different crowds hanging by the door. A friend of mine actually ran by the spot earlier that morning, and she was told the wait time would come to a little more than an hour. If you can't drop by to make a reservation, you may also join their live waitlist on Yelp on the day of your visit. The spot opens only from 7AM to 3PM daily, but be sure to plan ahead though to avoid wait times longer than an hour.

7 categories of items

Since it was extremely busy, we were told that they ran out of one of their most popular mango mimosa, lobsters and scallops, so we got recommendation from our host and he was extremely thorough and friendly in guiding us through any questions we had about the menu. I was actually very amazed by the amount of details he went into explaining the components of different dishes and how they made them - Well done, OEB staffers!

The OEB breakfast menu also has quite a lot of selections, ranged all the way from their classic breakfast, specials, benny/ egg items, poutines, sandwiches to sweets that will probably satisfy our sweet tooth and the inner child among us all.

FRENCH TOAST TRIFLE | 19 Meyer lemon curd, market berries, Sicilian pistachio, torched French meringue

Grapefruit Mamosa

BLACK ANGUS STEAK & EGGS (6OZ) | 22 Striploin, free run hen eggs any style, artisan bread, fresh fruit, duck fat fried spuds. (Black Apron Coop)

WAFFLE & LOX | 21 Dill cured lox, crisp buttermilk waffle, tzatziki, Spanish capers, pickled red onions, micro he

GOLD DIGGA | 20 Poached Eggs, Herb Potatoes, Quebec Cheese Curds, Berkshire Roast Pork, Black Truffles, Hollandaise

Even the plating is absolutely gorgeous!

What I love the most about OEB from this one dine in experience? Their food were all steaming hot when the dishes arrived at the table! When you bite into the crispy potatoes, you get that perfect balance of a crispy outer skin and perfectly fluffed up mash from the inside - and not to mention, it is steaming hot, like literally - steaming! My personal favourite from the dishes would actually be the side doubled fried potatoes (BOWL OF TWICE FRIED HERB POTATOES | 5), the roast pork and black truffles combo from the Poutine item, the waffles, and the Meyer lemon curd from the French Toast. If I have to pick between waffles and French Toast, I would probably have to put my vote on French Toast - Cinnamon & Egg, can't beat that!

Honestly, what's better than discovering new amazing brunch spots filling up your neighbourhood? Probably nothing!
